Great leaders walk their talk and lead by example. They can also deliver with excellence, what their people can deliver and they don’t delegate simply because they are dodgy. Mahatma Gandhi believed that he could help the marginalized majority by suffering with them through fasting and living without the need for any material possession. He used his strengths- words, building relationships and beliefs- to fight for those who were muzzled by fear. Like Mahatma Gandhi, there are leaders who lead battles themselves, who are in the front line before their people because they committed to lead but sadly, there are also those who are just bullies and indolent who lead by lip service.
He had such a great soul, Mohandas, hence he was named Mahatma. He didn’t lead for fame, power or wealth but for his concern and compassion for the oppressed. He also finds happiness and fulfillment in knowing that what he thinks, say and do are in harmony.
