Gen. Emiliano Riego de Dios, along with his brothers Mariano and Vicente, fought hard against their fellow Spaniards even if at the onset they were sent to the Philippines to invade and rule over the Filipinos. They decided to exchange power and influence with hardships in the battle, lack of sufficient ammunition and a lot more uncertainties. The one thing that is certain was that he needed to help in defending the maltreated land owners. Gen. Emiliano joined Andres Bonifacio in defending the Filipino people and protecting the land.
Your beliefs and the values you strongly uphold as a leader propels you to make a stand and fight for the oppressed, even if it means fighting against your own superior, family, relatives or close friends. Right and wrong got no in between so whatever is right, is right.
We always find ourselves divided between what our boss wants and what’s good for our people. The lack of immersion by our superiors on the job that our team does often triggers this predicament. However, you know what’s good for your people. You can’t make something that is wrong, right. You have to make a stand. We have to do everything in our power to defend their cause and grapple against the odds to make them become successful.
